Caroline Gowing (Greenslade) - Director

Caroline Gowing is an experienced project manager, facilitator and information visualisation expert, with a core focus on improving process and people capability in delivery organisations. She also supports business, government and the third sector with change and strategy consultancy, stakeholder engagement and complex team management challenges.

Caroline’s experience spans government, large and medium sized companies and the charity sector, including time with the British Army, within a FTSE 100 company, as a consultant supporting small SMEs and directly seconded within central government. A large proportion of Caroline’s work has focused on leading complex strategy and change management projects and facilitating workshops, meetings and events in challenging environments. Caroline has a particular passion for understanding how complex combined human and technology processes are managed and delivered within organisations and in supporting the training and development that makes them real for employees and managers.

Caroline brings to all engagements a balance of her academic background as a psychologist, her practical experience of managing and delivering high profile technology and change projects and her proactive and engaging communication style to make sure all stakeholders are brought along through the process.

QUALIFICATIONS

Caroline has a First Class BSc in Psychology and an MSc (Distinction) in Cognitive Ergonomics. She is currently completing an MSc in Environmental Strategy and is studying part-time for a BA in History. She is also a qualified APMP Project Manager, an MoP Portfolio Manager and is completing her ILM Level 7 executive coaching qualifications.  She holds current MOD SC security clearance.

CAREER FOCUS

After leaving school Caroline joined the British Army as an officer in the Royal Logistics Corps. She followed her military service with a BSc and MSc before joining a large corporate’s Advanced Technology Centre. There she ran several million pound projects rolling out technology solutions to clients and developing new product solutions. Subsequently moving into the strategy arm of the company, Caroline worked jointly with the MOD to roll out a new indujstry partnership strategy and embed programme management practices within the partnership. Caroline became an independent consultant in 2008 and set up Capability Consulting in 2009. Since then she has worked for a wide range of clients in the professional services, defence, oil and gas and charity sectors. Highlights have been project managing a complex change programme for the Royal Navy, supporting a medium sizezd technology services company deliver a new software solution to a client and supporting BP to develop their sales process. Caroline currently coaches several senior executives in the security and media industries. In parallel to business and defence she maintains core clients within the charity sector, recently helping the British Heart Foundation with their organisational design and supporting the Royal Academy through facilitation of executive meetings.
